Take a closer look at our native hedgerows

There is a chance to take a closer look at our native hedgerows when writer and ecologist Helen Bynum gives a talk entitled ‘Native Hedgerow Plants’ at Woodbridge Community Hall, Station Road, IP12 4AU on Thursday 21 March 2024, starting at 7.30 pm.

The talk has been organized by Suffolk Wildlife Trust, Woodbridge Wildlife Group and Chairman Phil Smith said “Starting from the tallest hedgerow tree, to the life in the soil around the roots, the plants of a hedgerow are a rich mosaic that collectively support so many other species. Helen will talk about how and when we came to create hedges in our landscape and why did we fall out of love with these living boundaries and lose sight of their value until recently?”

Phil added  “This promises to be a most interesting talk from Helen, who is fascinated by plants and people and their interactions in landscapes over time and place.  All are welcome with entry £3 for adults and under 25’s free.  There will be a raffle during the evening and light refreshments will be served. Doors open at 7 pm.
