Wickham Market Photographic Competition

Thursday 21st June 2018 - The Longest Day - is Suffolk Day. From sunrise at 4.40am to sunset at 21.19pm. Wickham Market Arts Project are inviting people to get out and about in Wickham Market on this day and take some photographs of our wonderful village. The photograph must be taken on Suffolk Day in Wickham Market and is open to all. Each entrant may submit up to two photographs which must be printed 10ins x 8ins or A4, in colour or black and white on photographic paper. The age categories will be, 12 years and under, 13 years to 18 years, and over 18 years. The cost of entering is £1.

The chosen submissions will be shown in an exhibition as part of our October Arts Festival.

The village has a wealth of images to inspire the enquiring artist, the buildings, cottages, gardens, allotments, farms, countryside, wildlife, shops, sports grounds, churches, school, businesses, and so on, but it is also the lives of the people against these backgrounds that could be the centre of interest.

The judges will be looking for pictures that tell a story and that reveal new meanings to the familiar.

Entry forms will be available from the shop 'Inspirations' on the Hill in Wickham Market, or can be downloaded from the Wickham Market Arts Project website. After Suffolk Day the form together with the photograph and payment should be delivered to 'Inspirations' by the 31st July 2018. Have fun out there and we look forward to seeing some truly wonderful photos!
