Exciting developments continue with the plans for the stunning new village hall.
Following the consultation meeting in January of this year the team have been progressing the "Option B", which had received overwhelming support. There have been meetings with Plaice, the architects for the scheme, to consider the points raised at the consultation.
As a result a number of amendments have been made to the plans. These include:-
Patio doors onto the field from the main hall
A path along the western (field) side of the building
A small increase in the number of parking spaces
Inclusion of bike parking
Identification of two parking bays for electric vehicles
A study has been carried out to show that the building as proposed will not affect sunlight to the surrounding properties in comparison to the existing hall
Some issues that involve the internal fixtures and fittings do not affect the planning application and will be considered at the next design stage. The revised scheme has now been submitted to Suffolk Coastal Planning Department. Take a look yourself here.
Comments on the Planning Application may be made to Suffolk Coastal either on line or in writing. They should be made by the 3rd September. Gaining Planning Permission is an important next step in this project. With it in place it will enable the Wickham Market Village Hall New Build Group to move forward to making grant applications.
