Many thanks to those who came and helped with the litter pick this Saturday. Sadly, judging by the number of bags collected, a good deal of rubbish needed to be cleared,with more still to be retrieved. I'm pleased to announce that last year's March litter pick meant we were entered into a prize draw, organised by Norse, and we won £200. I would like to use this money to purchase our own set of litter grabbers, hoops and hi viz waistcoats, which would enable us to carry out these clean ups more often. I know there are many people in the community who carry out their own litter picks and and extend my thanks to those silent cleaners, as well.

I don't believe anyone really likes seeing rubbish lying around our streets and countryside, but have come to accept it as part of life. It doesn't have to be. We can all help by just keeping our own area clear.
