We have been asked to spread the word about a cabinet office test in East Suffolk for next Tuesday 25th May.
Emergency Alerts is a new service from the UK government.
On Thursday people around Leiston should get an alert on their phone with a siren - this is a test only. This is a new system being put in place by the government.
Please share this message as widely as you can so people don't worry if their phone receives the warning on Thursday.
"Emergency alerts will warn you if there’s a danger to life nearby.
In an emergency, your phone or tablet will receive an alert with advice about how to stay safe."
