The Suffolk Punch Trust have an opening for a Head Groom to work alongside the Stud Manager in the operation of a busy stud and tourist attraction. We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and enthusiastic person with great people skills to assist with the daily running of the farm.
You will be required to maintain the high standards of animal husbandry and manage the yard in an effective and timely manner. You will work alongside and oversee a team of Stud Grooms and volunteers, ensuring that they have clear instruction and working to our company policies. Not only are we a stud, but we are also a tourist attraction which means that your people skills will need to be of a high standard. You must be organised, tidy and work well under pressure. Other animals to include, sheep, goats, cattle, poultry, and donkeys are also part of this role, and will be included in the day-to-day care. It is not essential to have previous experience with these animals and we will train you within the role.
You will be required to handle stallions, mares and youngstock, to include the training of horses to harness and saddle. Previous driving experience is not essential, and we would train you within the role. Previous foaling experience is preferred but not essential.

£27,500 per annum
