Plants for Wildlife on your Doorstep!

Suffolk Wildlife Trust’s Woodbridge Wildlife Group offer people in the area an opportunity to get out and buy plants and second hand books from local doorsteps during their forthcoming “Plants for Wildlife Weekend” on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 May 2021.

“We usually hold our popular Plant Sale at Foxburrow Farm, Melton at the beginning of May, but unfortunately current restrictions mean that a large event such as this is not possible” said Phil Smith, Chair of the local group. “However, we have come up with an alternative plan to take plants out into the community this year. Supporters in the Woodbridge area will be placing a table in their garden or on their doorstep during the weekend of 8 and 9 May, offering passers by the chance to browse locally grown plants and donated books, with funds from sales supporting Suffolk Wildlife Trust.”

“We have 14 gardens/doorsteps in Woodbridge and surrounding villages open during the weekend” continued Phil.” All sales will be in cash, so I’d urge customers to make sure they have plenty of coins available before visiting our doorstep tables” added Phil. “An information sheet and trail map showing doorstep locations will be available. This will also highlight Suffolk Wildlife Trust reserves nearby and we hope that visitors will take the opportunity to visit a local reserve as well as seeking out our doorstep sales tables during this special weekend.”

An information sheet and trail map can be requested by emailing swtwoodbridge@outlook.com . These will also be available to download from Suffolk Wildlife Trust’s website from mid April.
