Wildlife themed events for May 2024
Suffolk Wildlife Trust, Woodbridge Wildlife Group have two wildlife themed events planned for May 2024, with a popular Peat Free Plant Sale as well as an Early Morning Wildlife Walk.
“We are delighted to be holding our Plant Sale once again at Foxburrow Nature Reserve on Sunday 5 May between 2 pm and 4 pm” said Phil Smith, Chair of the Woodbridge Wildlife Group. “This year we are once again promoting the event as a Peat Free Plant Sale, as all the plants sold will be grown in peat free compost. Entry to the event is free and visitors will find the usual mix of locally grown plants, second hand books, a raffle and refreshments.”
Later in the month the group host an Early Morning Wildlife Walk on Sunday 19 May, starting from 7 am. “We will be starting the walk from Melton Riverside Car Park, Wilford Bridge Road, Melton” said Mr Smith. “From there we will take the boardwalk path and quiet lane to Suffolk Wildlife Trust’s Bromeswell Green nature reserve. The walk distance is 2-3 miles and suitable for adults and children over 10.”
“Places on this walk are limited and it is essential to pre-book through the Suffolk Wildlife Trust website events page or by telephoning them on 01473 890089. A minimum donation of £5 per person is payable on booking, with under 25’s free”
“Attendees should wear stout, waterproof footwear and bring binoculars if possible. No dogs except Assistance Dogs are allowed on the Bromeswell reserve or at Foxburrow Farm.” added Mr Smith.
