This piece is the epic account of Elijah’s struggle against adversity: earthquake, wind, fire, drought and famine. Mendelssohn wrote: ‘No work of mine was received with such enthusiasm by both musicians and audience’.
The soprano soloist will be Sarah Tynan, recently nominated as one of the most influential artists in the UK (Evening Standard).
