Hopkins Homes is consulting the community on plans for a residential development of around 80 to 100 new homes on land west of Old School Farm, High Street, Wickham Market. The outline proposals are expected to include bungalows, smaller homes and family homes. A third of the new homes are proposed as affordable housing.

The proposals include an extension of the existing cemetery, the retention and conversion of the Old School building, the use of The Penny Field as public open space, a children's play area and a landscaped buffer along the southern and western site boundaries and behind existing properties facing the High Street. Vehicle access is proposed from the High Street, together with a footpath/cycleway link to Walnuts Lane.

The event is being held at: Wickham Market Village Hall on Friday 20th July, between 3pm and 7.30pm.
