An in depth tour of St Mary’s, Dallinghoo, led by an expert

Updated: Jul 5, 2021

The Dallinghoo Church Repair Fund: Friday 3rd September 2021.

This is a chance to hear, Roy Tricker, the celebrated speaker on churches. In particular, he is an expert on Suffolk’s churches and in 2018 was awarded the British Empire Medal for his services to heritage in Suffolk.

Beginning at 6:00 pm, the occasion will include a talk and tour of the church led by the man himself. This will conclude at about 7:30 with a glass of wine or a soft drink and nibbles. Cost: £5.00 apiece; children under 16 free. Tickets in aid of further repairs from Jeremy Quinlan: JeremyQ@tiscali.co.uk, 01473 737700 or The Old Rectory, Dallinghoo IP13 0LA.

An in depth tour of St Mary’s, Dallinghoo, led by an expert An enthralled church-crawler since the age of four, he spends his time sharing his passion for these amazing buildings, praising and promoting them from lectern and pulpit. He gives many lectures and slide shows, has written over 200 church guidebooks, published other books and has broadcast on radio and TV. He is sure the love of churches is absorbing and infectious for people of all religions and of none. Also, that every old church is the most interesting in the country, because each has its own unique characteristics, well worth getting to know and love. His delightful, enthusiastic and well researched talks inspire his audiences.

We have recently spent more than £100,000 repairing the outside of the church. Come and see what we have done. We were unable to raise enough to repair the inside. Come and see what we shall be doing next – and what else we should like to be able to do.
