Due to the adverse conditions Norse has taken the difficult decision to suspend all refuse collections today.
This will be monitored daily, but without any break in the weather we are unlikely to commence collections until midweek.
The proposal is to move every collection forward 24 hours. Monday collections will take place on a Tuesday, Tuesday on a Wednesday etc. And crews will work on Saturday to catch up.
If collections cannot take place tomorrow – then collections will be moved forwards 48 hours. Monday on a Wednesday, Tuesday on a Thursday, and so on. And crews will work Saturday and Sunday.
Operationally, it is more problematic to collect partial rounds than to postpone entire rounds. – and not only becomes difficult to plan, environmentally this is not efficient.
