A Volunteer Day will be held in Wickham Market Village Hall on the 9th July 2022.
During the COVID pandemic many of our older volunteers have had to step down and very few new volunteers have come forward. This is having a detrimental impact on our local clubs, societies and organisations which are predominantly run by volunteers. To keep these groups functioning it is essential that people willing to give a small amount of time should step forward.
People who volunteer gain a sense of wellbeing as well as helping make the community much more vibrant, healthy and resilient. The aim of the day is: A. For Local Groups. A chance for local clubs, societies and organisations to advertise their volunteer vacancies. B. For Potential Volunteers. To show the options available depending on personal preferences and the time one has available. C. For All Residents.
To show what local clubs, societies and organisations are available to join or make use of what is on offer. The day is being organised by Wickham Market Good Neighbours Scheme and the Well Being Tree Café assisted by the Parish Council. The Village Hall will be available for local clubs, societies and organisations to set up their stalls from 1.45pm and all local residents are strongly encouraged to attend at some time between 2.30pm and 5.30pm.
