An evening walk for Nightjars and Glow worms

Suffolk Wildlife Trust’s Woodbridge Wildlife Group invite you to join them for a summer evening wildlife experience this June, when they are hosting two Nightjar Walks on Blaxhall Heath and Common.

Chairman of the Group, Phil Smith, said “As darkness falls we will wander across the heath, looking and listening for signs of the nightjar.  This fascinating bird is a summer visitor to this reserve and I hope we will be lucky enough to catch sight of the bird.  The walk should also give the chance to see glow worms” added Mr Smith.

“Due to the popularity of this walk, we will be running it twice this year, on Friday 21 June and again on Friday 28 June” said Mr Smith.  "Both walks start at 9.15 pm from the Sandgalls car park, Tunstall (TM 382559) and will last for approximately one hour."

The walk is suitable for adults and children over 10 but places are strictly limited and must be pre-booked by contacting Suffolk Wildlife Trust.  A minimum donation of £5 per person is payable, with under 25’s free, and bookings can be made online through www.suffolkwildlifetrust.org  (events section) or by telephoning them on 01473 890089. Dogs are not allowed on this walk. Participants are advised to use insect repellent, wear sturdy footwear and bring a torch.
